Bitcoin rises slightly as tentative optimism over a potential extension to the Iran war cease-fire improves risk appetite. The Wall Street Journal reports that mediators are pushing to extend the cease-fire, which ends next week, and for a second round of peace talks after initial negotiations collapsed last weekend. However, progress has been slow. Moreover, energy supply disruptions continue, with the U.S. implementing a blockade of Iranian ports and Iran responding with threats to block shipping from the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Red Sea.
